Robert De Niro talks about Sergio Leone, Once Upon A Time In America and Harry Grey's book ''The Hoods''.
I know it’s unrealistic, but it would’ve been amazing to see a romance bw Jennifer as an adult and Robert
This is honestly my number one favorite movie of the 1980s. The movie being butchered for an American release angers me so much.
Im sleepy
Low octane
But on drugs
He
Where can I find the restored extended cut?
It's amazing how shy this man is, yet he can play just about anything and anyone. Hard watching him lose himself over that politician. I don't care for him either but no politicians (NOT ONE) are worth getting an aneurism over.
The movie had a powerful impact on me because of its instant nostalgia quality that tugged at my heart as if it were a fond memory of mine. It’s hard to describe but it was a powerful feeling that Sergio was capable of making
Brilliant scene proves that noodles isn’t dreaming
Brilliant scene
Scoperta da Argento
One of the greatest movies ever made!! And she was amazing!
Top 3 movies ever
Best movie ever
0:24 seeing this brought me to tears and how if we never remastered the footage 😢
Hands down my favorite film of all time. The cinematic quality, the soundtrack, the editing, its a complete and total masterpiece.
How does Deniro the actor do such great work, when Deniro the live person is such a fumbling leftist fuckwit?
Remembering James Hayden - died at 29 - while working with Al Pacino on Broadway with “American Buffalo.” He was terrific in this movie. He died before it was released. He had already worked with De Niro, Pacino, Leone and even Frank Sinatra on “The First Deadly Sin.” Many actors loved him. Mickey Rourke dedicated his own outstanding performance in “Pope of Greenwich Village” to Hayden.
That’s right Bobby , Ram that sausage home, I mean you did pay for dinner and all. Good paisano
And imagine, Sister and Ebert did not like this movie.
Foot fetish
she has to be lucky to be portrayed in the most beautiful scene in all of cinema
de niro doesn't get enough credit for this role
Finest soundtrack to any movie ,,,,,,,,,,,,
He’s a cheese-faced grunyon with a fetish for stinky, sweaty and dirty feet.
Who is Tarantino talking about in the beginning? DeNiro im guessing?
Yes
Id love to watch the full, 6+ hour cut that Leone originally intended to be released as two films. Almost like its own Godfather Pt I & Pt II
The first time I see DeNiro speaks comfortably like that
She is PERFECT in Once upon a time in America. Younger Deborah and Noodles are better.
Finally watched the extended cut in its entirety. shortest 4 plus hours of my life, and among the most sublime film experiences I've ever had. Greatest gangster movie of all time, absolute masterpiece. I would kill to watch the 6 hour cut.
Two evil men trying to one up each other and at the same time covering their own asses for their own benefit. Fascinating to see.
This makes a lot more sense. And makes the tension a lot more suspenseful and exciting
Would love the whole 6 hour version.
One of my favourites of all time, seen all different versions, Morricone's music score, ab brill. Best coming of age, loss of innocence gangster film made by one of the best Directors ever.
Never saw this in the 80s. Now I love it. Would love to have the missing 2 hours.
I want to see the 10 hour cut before I die
OMG They look identical to their young selves.... best quote of the movie "Noodles..... I slipped..." unbelievable they are as grateful as they can be for getting to be Max and Noodles
" He won't ever be my beloved"
Just Gorgeous , i can look at her face forever ❤
Best movie ever made
Elizabeth Montgomery was who Robert and James were both in love with when young. Robert never knew his best friend who he loved also wanted Roberts girlfriend until he became grown man and 29 years later his best p friend he loved took his girlfriend and had child, took his money and ruined Roberts life. Robert became poor on drugs he thought he killed his best friend to protect him. Friend made this suffer for 20 years invited him to his mansion and Robert realized his friend faked his death and made Robert think he killed him and he took everything from Robert. James Said I planned to ruin your life when we we're teenagers. Robert still loved his friend. James had become rich mayor.
I first saw this movie thirty years ago and it is 5 hours long. So good it explains life brilliantly. I.did not understand about the significance of life then but I do now. So emotional and tells about love, betrayal, greed, jealousy, drugs, gangsters, power and becoming wealthy and rich and poor and miserable.
Brilliant film the music was amazing love from Ireland 🇮🇪
Dis is wen noodles knows something up y did dey leave it out a masterpiece ❤
Best movie ever ❤
I love this film and the music.
makes him not taking the money more significant in the movies context.. but not taking the money alone and his expression is enough.. it also could be spared because it is max who is the wealth chaser in the gang, constantly cleaning his shoes. So this would be a "gangster vs normie discussion and by that it would tilt the movie towards a pro gangster movie
Inoltre , Jennifer Connelly parla italiano abbastanza bene .
Tarantino does a good job explaining the r*pe scene and in Noodles’ mind which is very tough to watch. Afterwards it feels like from then on Noodles is a walking dead man thanks to his heinous actions
